PEHKA works with diverse communities to improve quality of life and reduce the impact of environmental exposures on human health and development. We partner with community members to:
- Identify sources of contamination and actions for reducing exposure and improving well-being
- Support neighborhood groups to bridge gaps between community needs and available information and action to address those needs
- Provide research expertise needed by the community to build capacity and develop solutions
- Address inequality, institutionalized or structural discrimination, and health equity objectives through community participation, shared decision-making, and leveraging local expertise to improve local health outcomes
