- We provide information and assistance to community groups, municipal officials, building personnel, and others on steps to creating healthy built environments based upon the 3-pillar and triple bottom line (Elkington, 1998; Littig & Griessler, 2005) theories of sustainability.
- Assistance is also provided in areas of planning health impact assessments, indoor air quality, aging in place, active and inclusive living environments, and other topics linked to healthy human – environment relationships.
- Our work is inspired by guidelines endorsed by WELL Building Institute, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Active Living Research, Breast Cancer Prevention Partners, Center for Health Environment and Justice, and other sources of evidence-based science through sound research.
